Carnivorous
The definition of Carnivorous plants according to Wikipedia is "Carnivorous plants are plants that derive some or most of their nutrients (but not energy) from trapping and consuming animals or protozoans, typically insects and other arthropods".
Mike has always had a love of Carnivorous plants and is now starting to build his collection again – having not had them for years. His long-term aim is to turn the right-hand side of the greenhouse into a Carnivorous plant display – similar to those that are often seen at garden shows! In the meantime, he has a small selection in the greenhouse, in pots, together with a small display in a ceramic dish in the garden (below).

Although we had lost one or two plants over the winter the remaining ones were doing extremely well and, in April 2013, Mike decided to split them – all of which were soon showing new shoots.
